Version 1.1

As of 6/5/26

“Be excellent to each other”.

-Bill S. Preston, Esq.

Don’t be a douche, this is a game, a leisure activity in our lives, having some fun is the goal, winning is not the most important thing here. And while we understand pushing people's buttons, you must know when to stop, when to apologize, and when you have gone too far. We don’t expect anyone to be perfect, but we do expect everyone to own it when they make a mistake, to learn from and not repeat those mistakes, and be better moving forward because of the experience.

No Cheese and do NOT quit

  • Never intentionally exploit flaws in the game.

This is open to some interpretation, but more than anything it speaks to what your mindset is. This isn’t “real” D1 college ball where if you aren’t cheating you are trying. This is a video game that is supposed to be fun (despite EAs best efforts).

  • Simply put, you do not quit a game.

If you are upset at your opponent and cannot work it out at that moment, and a commish is not immediately available to help (we do have families, lives and jobs), finish the game, we will sort out the issue as soon as we can.

If you quit, you will be removed from the league.

42 POINT RULE

Do not under ANY circumstances get ahead by more than 42 points at any time during a game. If you go over 42 points you will be removed from the league. No questions asked.

SETTINGS

  • Heisman

  • 7 min quarters

  • Accelerated clock off

SCHEDULING GAMES

When scheduling a game with another user……

  • Reach out right away, or as quickly as you can once the week is open (or even ahead of time when you know you have a game vs a user in a coming week)

  • Respond as soon as possible to be respectful of your opponents time and life in general

  • Communicate and come to an agreement like men

SCHEDULE BLOCKS

Each block will consist of 2 games from your 12 game schedule opening for a 2 week period. It is YOUR responsibility to get these games played during the open period. A detailed schedule of each season will be released prior to the draft each season.

STREAMING GAMES

  • BOTH USERS ARE REQUIRED TO STREAM EVERY GAME THEY PLAY.

  • Streaming is part of your total coach score

  • Youtube or Twitch, doesn’t matter, but it is your responsibility to manually share it in the channel.

This is not hard stuff, if you do not know how to do this, you can easily find the information by searching online.

GENERAL PLAYCALLING EXPECTATIONS

Running, passing, RPOs, man coverage, zone, blitzing, with all of it balance is the word to keep top of mind.

We are roughly interpreting this as that you shouldn’t be doing any of these things more than ¾ of the time. Run vs pass on offense, man cover 2, man cover 1, man blitz, zone blitz, zone cover 2, 3, 4, or 6 on defense.

The only exception is a full flexbone offense. but that should be your full offense not just something to pop in and out of.

PRE-SNAP OFFENSE

Maximum of TWO hot routes per play including route stems. Maximum of 3 total adjustments per play.

NO HUDDLE/HURRY UP OFFENSE

  • Using different tempo options is allowed, but this situation could always change in the event someone finds a way to exploit it and or over do it. At no point should no huddle be your primary offense and should be used sparingly in non end of game situations.

  • Note that you must huddle after any play that stops the clock, such as running out of bounds or incomplete pass.

4TH DOWN RULES

Anytime:

  • Any “And Goal” situation

  • (Winning by 28 or more): Kick on all 4th downs

1st half & 2nd half: (WINNING)

  • 50yd to your opponent’s endzone – 4th and 5 or less.

3rd Quarter: (LOSING OR TIED)

  • Your 40yd line – Any distance to go.

4th Quarter: (LOSING OR TIED)

  • no 4th down restrictions.

OT:

  • no 4th down restrictions.

-Fake FGs/PATs/Punts, don’t abuse it, use them, but remember they are supposed to be a surprise, don’t be the guy that makes me have to add another rule.

Use some common sense and logic, if I have to change the rule because of you, I will name it after you as a reminder to all, and likely remove you as well.

PLAYACTION

It is pretty simple, on 3rd or 4th down of 6 or more yards to go, you do not call a Playaction pass on offense.

Also of note with Playaction, in pre-snap adjustments you do not audible the RB (the player the run fake is to) to block, hence canceling the “Playaction” as you will still be getting the reaction from the cpu controlled defense as if you call faked a handoff.

QB MOVEMENT

  • Do not roll out to the sideline when there is no pressure on the QB.

This is defined as drifting outside the numbers on the field when there is not a defender currently pursuing the QB.

Obviously yes there are playaction passes with built in roll-outs, and they should be used in moderation.

  • QB drop backs (without pressure in your face/running for your life) should not exceed 15 yards.

  • Do not do not do not, call a pass play with the intention of just taking off with your QB, we all know better, this should never ever be an issue.

  • QBs run in the college game, and there are a ton of running plays you can call specifically for your QB.

  • Obviously if you are running away from a free rusher you can scramble.

  • If the defense is sitting back in coverage, and you don’t have an open receiver, you can run. Use some good judgement here.

DEFENSE

  • You must ALWAYS have at least 3 pass rushers.

  • If you move a defensive player before the offense snaps the ball, you cannot switch to another defender till the ball is snapped. This also applies to special teams, FG or Punt block/return plays

  • If the offense audibles to a new formation OR puts a man in motion then you are allowed to switch to a 2nd player and move them presnap in response to the offensive action.

  • NO manual stacking of LBs or Safeties in the gap or over the top of the DL.

  • If you rush with a player you must engage with the OL before dropping back. No "tricking" the AI

DEPTH CHART

If EA will allow you to put a player there, you can put a player there, once again though this is one of those things where one idiot could find a way to ruin it for everyone potentially, use common sense and ask questions (not in the middle of a game) if you have them.

CHEW CLOCK

There are 3 situations where you can turn on chew clock.

  1. If you are up by 28 points or more in the 2nd half, you may chew the clock

  2. With a lead of any amount, the final 2 minutes of the game

  3. If your opponent (the team losing) concedes and asks you to do so

SPORTSMANSHIP

Simply put, an additional touchdown when you could have run out the clock out with the current set of downs is poor sportsmanship and will not be tolerated. If you have to constantly be reminded about general sportsmanship and what is important then you will not be here long.

COMPLAINTS/RULE BREAKS

  • If you have a complaint or suspect a rule break that issue needs to be reported to your conference commish or an admin. The issue will be addressed as follows.

  • Complaint will be reviewed by the head of the Rules and Punishments committee

  • RPC will determine if it falls under the guidelines of a no punishment, baseline punishment, or a formal review.

  • If it is determined a formal review is needed the review will be conducted with all RPC members and both coaches in a live chat where each coach will be able to present their case. These will be open for all league members to attend, and the RPC will vote afterwards on the best course of action.

BASELINE PUNISHMENT

RESTARTS (after disconnect)

  • If your game is disconnected in the 3rd quarter or sooner, and the game is tied, or the lead is 8 points or less, you restart a fresh, brand new game.

  • If the game disconnects in the 3rd quarter or sooner, and the lead is 9 points or more, restart, but the team that was leading should be allowed to score the points needed to recreate the lead they had when the disconnect happened.

  • If your game is disconnected in the 4th quarter, and the lead is 17 or more, it’s a forced sim win for the team that was leading.

  • If your game is disconnected in the 4th quarter, and the game is 16 points or closer recreate the situation by playing shorter quarters and remembering the situation/score.

GENERAL APPROACH

Is what I’m doing exploiting the game in some way that isn’t part of simulation style video game football?

If you have to ask, probably it is. Rules will be amended if need be as glitches or flaws within the game are discovered.

BANNED

  • No stemming corner routes

  • No stacking LB or Safety in gaps or over top of the DL

  • No manual movement of defensive players to the LOS
